About Oxyazur

Europe's gold standard water treatment... in your own backyard

Chlorination has long been the primary method for treating household water, but it has significant drawbacks. It only kills bacteria, leaves a strong, unpleasant smell, and carries medically-proven carcinogenic side effects due to chlorine exposure. SteriClear introduces the OxyAzur™ range of tablets, utilizing our intelligent ActiGas™ nanotechnology. These tablets selectively target and eliminate bacteria, moulds, viruses, spores, and fungi, evaporating completely and leaving no residue in the water.

How it works

When you add the OxyAzur™ tablet to your stored water, it activates the ActiGas™ nanotechnology within. The tablet dissolves within 20 seconds, releasing a dissolved gas that eradicates bacteria, viruses, moulds, spores, and fungi in under 20 minutes. This gas then evaporates, leaving no residue.

Additionally, the gas is 10 times more water-soluble than chlorine and has 2.5 times the oxidizing capacity, allowing it to reach areas other treatments, like ultraviolet water treatment, often miss. This ensures a full-spectrum disinfection of your water system. As a Level-4 biocide, OxyAzur™ needs to be added only every 4-5 days, or whenever new water is introduced.

Microbes
Treats the water in your tank. Our OxyAzur® kills bacteria, viruses, moulds, spores, fungi, algae and bioslimes, in your water and water system, as well as reduces heavy metals in your water. A true All-In-One.
Plumbing
Maintains your plumbing system. OxyAzur® also eliminates all algaes, moulds and biofilms in your water system which accumulate due to using untreated water in your water tank. No need to call the plumber everytime your toilet starts going green.
Chlorine
No chlorine taste or smell. Our technology does not use chlorine to treat your water. The tablet creates our dissolved ActiGas® to sanitise your water, and then evaporates shortly after without a trace, leaving your water the way nature intended.
pH
Never check your pH again. Just 1 small tablet a week is all it takes to keep your water tank safe and to prevent buildup of algae and bioslimes. No complicated pH testing or acids and alkalines. Works everytime.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use OxyAzur to treat my rain or borehole water?

Rain Water - Absolutely. The only thing to keep in mind is that, because OxyAzur® is tablet-based, it is unable to filter solids out of the water, such as insects or twigs which might have gotten into the tank. If the rain water is to be used inside the home, we recommend that a simple filter gets installed to prevent the solids from causing a blockage further down the plumbing system.

Municipal Water - Absolutely.

Borehole Water - Yes, however we recommend that if the borehole water is to be used for drinking, one must get the water analysed to make sure that there are no toxic chemicals in the borehole water. OxyAzur® will take care of the bacteria, moulds, viruses, spores, algaes, and all unwanted microbes, and it does significantly reduce most of the toxic chemicals in the water however it cannot remove them completely. If you are unsure if OxyAzur® will work for you, you can always email us your laboratory water analysis and we can do a report for you free of charge to see if you will benefit from using OxyAzur® in your system.

Will I require filters or UV systems with OxyAzur Tablets?

It depends on your application and your type of water. OxyAzur® is a chemical-based water treatment solution. As effective as it is at eliminating bacteria, viruses, moulds, spores, fungi, and algae, it cannot filter solids out of the water. If you need to remove unwanted solids out your water, such as certain minerals or dissolved solids, or even just make sure that no insects and residue get into your home, we would recommend the use of water filters in conjunction with OxyAzur®. If you are just using the water to flush toilets and to shower with, then there will be no need, depending on the prior condition of the water. A good rule of thumb is: If the water in your tanks is clear to the eye then you can use OxyAzur® without filtration systems.

Do I need OxyAzur tablets if I already have a water filter and/or UV light system?

Water filters and ultraviolet lights are great solutions to ensure that your water is treated effectively, however they do not remove any microbiology or algae before their point of installation. Because of this, your water tank and pipes leading to the filter or UV light will most certainly get contaminated with bacteria, algae and larvae over time.

For this reason we recommend the use of OxyAzur® in conjunction with your water filter or ultraviolet for the following reasons:

  1. Maintains your tank and water system and prevents an overgrowth in your tank and pipes, keeping the water in the tank safe.
  2. By treating the water prior to filtration, it puts less strain on your filters, making them last significantly longer.
  3. It adds as an extra insurance and backup, in case one of the other systems fails your water will always be safe to consume
  4. OxyAzur® does not require electricity, so it acts as a further backup in case your UV light does not work

Do I really need to add a tablet each time water is added to my tank?

The answer to this question really depends on the quality of your water from your source and what you intend to use the water for. If the purpose of using OxyAzur® is just for general water tank maintenance, then we recommend nothing less than one tablet a week in the evenings. If you are unsure about the quality of your water source and want to ensure it’s safety, then we would recommend adding a tablet each time new untreated water is added to the tank, or at very least not exceeding the minimum concentration each tablet can treat.

3 examples to illustrate the usage clearly:

Example 1: If you have a 1000L tank with 500L water in the tank and you add an OxyAzur® 1000 tablet to the tank. The 500L will now be treated. If 300L new water is added to the tank within the next week, then the total water in the tank is 800L. Since each OxyAzur® 1000 tablet treats 1000L, there will be no need to add an extra tablet.

Example 2: If you have a 1000L tank with 500L water in the tank and you add an OxyAzur® 1000 tablet to the tank. The 500L will now be treated. If you consume 400L, there is only 100L of treated water left in the tank. When you add another 900L untreated water to the tank (you now have 1000L) you must now add a new OxyAzur® 1000 tablet to maintain the correct concentration.

Example 3If you have 800L water in your tank and you add one OxyAzur® 1000 tablet, you will successfully treat 800L. If you do not add new water to the tank and one week goes by, you need to add a new tablet to maintain the water.

Is it possible to overdose or underdose my tank or water?

Our OxyAzur® range is designed to be simple and easy to use, requiring minimal training to be used effectively and successfully and without having to tightly manage your concentration levels.

Because of this, OxyAzur® is effective over a wide range of concentration and it is very difficult to overdose the water. We do not recommend consuming the water at anything over 10x maximum strength, but there will never be a need to overdose the water to such an extent, unless it is done by accident. Anything below 100x is perfectly safe to be used domestically. If the water is underdosed, then you will not be getting the full benefit of our water treatment tablet.

Will I be able to drink the water once it is treated?

Yes. You will also notice that the OxyAzur® will remove all the chlorine and chemical tastes and smells out of the water. Also, OxyAzur® does not strip the minerals out of the water, leaving it with a ‘natural’ mineral taste.

*Once again, it is very important to do a water analysis if you are using borehole water, as there might be toxic chemicals in the water table. OxyAzur® cannot remove these alone, and we would recommend the additional use of a reverse osmosis water system to be used in conjunction with OxyAzur®

Does OxyAzur remove the salt or desalinate my water?

No. OxyAzur® reduces heavy metals in your water, such as iron and manganese, however it does not desalinate or decalcify (remove calcium) from the water) OxyAzur® can however still treat salt water and make it safe, it just does not remove the salt out of the water.

Does OxyAzur decalcify (remove the calcium or limescale) out of my water?

No. OxyAzur® reduces heavy metals in your water, such as iron and manganese, however it does not desalinate or decalcify (remove calcium) from the water) OxyAzur® can however still treat salt water and make it safe, it just does not remove the salt out of the water.
