PU Foam

Multipurpose expanding polyurethane foam. Fixopur construction foam is a one-component fast curing foam for fixing with no mixing. It is the versatile problem solver for fitting, filling, insulation, sealing and many other applications. After foaming it expands in volume and when completely cured, it can be cut, sanded, plastered and painted.

A one -component foam for fitting, filling, fixing, insulation, sealing & bonding. 500 ml expands to 30 litres.

Technical Data

  • Will bond to wood, masonry, metal, concrete, asbestos, cement and many other plastics apart from polythene, Teflon, silicone or dripping wet surfaces
  • Ideal for filling, insulating joints, cavities and columns, window and door frames, wall openings, pipe feedthroughs and many other construction projects
  • Ideal for plumbers, airconditioner installations, carpenters, electricians and general building purposes
  • Expands to 30 litres of cured foam per can
  • Track-free in 10 minutes
  • Can be cut, sawn or sanded after 2–3 hours
  • Should not be subjected to loads until at least 2–3 hours after processing. Full load bearing after 8 hours
  • Processing temperature (can and environment) between + 5°C and 35°C
  • Cured foam resists temperatures of –30°C to +80°C
  • Cured foam is damp-proof and waterproof
  • Cured foam does not shrink, sag, crack, crumble or rot
  • Cured foam is self-extinguishing
  • Cured foam is non toxic
  • Decomposes by direct exposure to UV light - so painting or coating is recommended

Preparation

  • All surfaces should be clear from oil, greases, loose particles and dust
  • Dry surfaces should be well sprayed or dampened
  • Building components should be well supported
  • Protect adjacent surfaces
  • Shake can vigorously before use
  • Screw nozzle tube on valve
  • Holding the can upside down dispense foam by pressing or tilting the valve
  • Note: after curing Fixopur can only be removed mechanically, therefore treat fresh contamination immediately with a solvent like acetone or nitrosolution.
