Need a “green” solution to tough problems? Breakdown and Bioflow are both organic and enzyme-based treatments for waste management and drain cleaning. Read on to find out which to use and when.
WHAT IT IS |
Breakdown is a bio-organic enzyme solution which is used to break down organic waste solids to an odourless liquified state. It prevents crusting in septic tanks and overall reduces the build-up of organic waste. It also drastically reduces foul odours.
WHERE TO USE IT |
Septic tanks, long drops, pit latrines, portable toilets
HOW TO USE IT |
To activate Breakdown, mix 300 ml with 5 L to 10 L of lukewarm (between 30°C and 40°C) water for each cubic metre of solid waste. Leave to stand for a minimum of 15 minutes before pouring through any convenient access point.
Remember to only use lukewarm water. Cold water reduces the efficiency of Breakdown and hot water destroys the enzymes. Do not use Breakdown in combination with disinfectants.
DOSAGE GUIDE |
Area | Initial Dose | Regular Maintenance | Method of application |
Effluent tanks | 400 ml per typical household | 40 ml per week | Through any convenient access point, e.g. toilet |

HOW TO USE IT |
Blocksolve is a ready-to-use formulation and does not require dilution or pre-activation. Suspend the appropriate block/s in a mesh bag into the pit.
The efficacy of Blocksolve is decreased at elevated water temperatures (above 25°C) or by excessive water flow. Blocksolve should not be placed in a direct stream of water. Store unused blocks in a cool, dry place. Wash hands thoroughly with warm, soapy water after contact.
